Selfies with Mom

I miss selfies with my mom.  Most photographers hear the word “selfie” and cringe, and while there is a part of me, that understands that, hear me out.  My mom passed away on March 28, 2019, at the age of seventy-four.  She had multiple sclerosis for over 45 years and spent nearly six months of her last year on earth in a nursing home, followed by hospice care.

As a professional photographer, my job is to create heirloom portraits that my clients can display on the walls of their home.   My clients can look to these images and remember precious moments in time — this a beautiful way to celebrate your life as time moves forward.

Not everyone can afford to have their images taken by a professional photographer.  I get that and completely understand.  But guess what?  Nearly everyone owns a cellphone that takes some pretty incredible photos.  Don’t let life pass you by without taking pictures and selfies with your loved ones.  Life is too short.  One day you won’t have the chance, and those simple selfies and cellphone images will feel priceless to you.  Trust me on this.  I know from personal experience.  And when you take those sweet cellphone images of your loved ones, be sure to have them printed, framed, and displayed so you can see them every day.

Photography is a great passion of mine.  I try to educate my clients about the importance of owning family portraits.  It is a beautiful way to celebrate your precious family.  If you cannot afford my services, find some way to have images taken of your family.  Have them printed and displayed on your wall so you can celebrate all the blessings life has given you.  Time passes swiftly, and one day you might not have that loved one in your life to photograph.

I miss my mom, but I see her sweet face every day in the photographs I have printed and displayed. Those images bring me great joy!

Live joyously,

Jeanie
